*". «—«— f — Messrs. T. W. Saxton, of Wellington, and Morley Saxon, of Brisbane, arc staying at the Grand Hotel. Major Dean Pitt arrived from Gisborne yesterday, and is staying at "Cargen." He' is accompanied by Mrs. Pitt. The Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey) arrived by the expres» yesterday evening, and left this morning for Pukekohe to open the first section of the railway to Waiuku. I The Hon. W. Fraser ("Minister for Public. Works) arrived ' from ■ Rotorua last evening by the express, and attended the ceremony on the Waiuku railway to-day. To-morrow evening he returns to Weljlington. Dr. J. Allan Thomson and B. C. Aston have been appointed by the Gover-nor-General to be members of the Board of Governors of the New Zealand Institute. An Order-in-Council has been gazetted revoking the naturalisation papers of ' Karl Osten Schauman, issued in May, 1905. This is one of the first cases under eht Revocation of Naturalisation Act I passed in Parliament last session.
