Twenty-seven German divisions are massed on the G&mbrai sector, and all have been engaged in the fighting. The Germans are displaying great aerial activity, bombing our dumps, depots, and field works. We retaliated with great numbers of fighting aeroplanea.-* (A. and N.Z. Cable.) A report from Sir Douglas Haig states:—The enemy's aeroplanes were particularly active on Monday west of Cambrai. They repeatedly attacked our artillery and machine-gunners. Our aeroplanes dropped many bombs and used machine-guns against villages, hutments, and trenches. We brought down five German aeroplanes. Three of oure are missing. This morning our machines proceeded to Germany to bomb certain factories.
