BRITISH NEW LINE HEAVILY BOMBARDED.
SUCCESSFUL RAID SOUTH OF ROEUX. (Received 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, October 15. General Sir Douglas Haig reports: —The enemy last nighi heavily bomlarded our positions on the main ridge southward of Broodseinde. The fouth Midland territorials made a successful raid last night north-eastward of Roeux, sis miles east of Arras. A wireless (German official message says:—The English penetrated our positions between the Scarpe and the Cam brai-Arras road, but counter-attacks drove them out.— (A. and N.Z. and Rcuter.l
