AWFUL DEATH RATE. LONDON. October 4. Th" "Times'' correspondent of the Hague states that a resident of Nish has arrived. He reports that there is illfeeling between the Bulgars and Germans arising from jealousy. The Germans have taken control of the railways from the Bulgars, and recently they locked up the Serbian employees for two hours, explaining that they expected the Bulgars to attempt to endeavour to regain control. The. population has decreased fiO per cent. The poverty is ter rible. Children are flogged in an effort to force mem to reveal supposed hoards of munitions. The spirit of the Serbians is unbroken. They believe that Serbia will be freed. * - - -~
