U.S. PEACE CRANKS.
i | (Received 9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 2. The "People's Council" opened a peace conference in Chicago. The police quietly dispersed the gathering. The conference has now been barred in four States, and also in Washington. The delegates state that they will charter a. ship and hold the conference; on the Atlantic Ocean. — (A. and N.Z.) j
