DOMINION BUTTER OUTPUT.
IMPERIAL PURCHASE. (By Telegraph.—-Parliamentary Reporter.) WFJJ'JN'GTON, this day. The Premier states that there is a probability that 'the Imperial "Government will purchase the whole New Zealand butter output of the coming season, but the final reply is not to hand. From other quarters I gather that there is confident belief that in view of the current prices of dairy produce the Imperial authorities will readily pay 1/4 for butter, which is the price the producers submitted to them. This arrangement will simplify control of local butter prices, as it will be an easy matter to extend the system under which meat is available in New Zealand at Imperial schedule rates. The Board of Trade considers 2d a pound reasonable profit for distribution, consequently butter to be 1/0 in New Zealand durin" the summer. J
