A two-storeyed house of six rooms in Spring Street, Freeman's Bay', was gutted by fire this morning. The building was occupied by Mrs. J. Collins and owned by Mrs. .Thornton, of Willow Street, Auckland. The furniture was uninsured, but the premises were insured by a policy with the South British Company for £100. The City Fire Brigade ■turned out, but the fire had gained a strong hold before they arrived.
