HEROIC NEW ZEALANDERS.
MHJTAKY HONOTJHS. (Received 12.30 p.m.} LONDON, July 27. The Military Cross has been awarded to Lieut. C. T. Gillespie, a New Zealander, for extinguishing burning boxes of ammunition under heavy shellfire. He worked amidst exploding shells with disregard of danger. Two men assisting, Sapper U. Butler and Corporal Norris, also New Zealanders, have been awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for heroic artillery and engineering feat's.—. (A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
