KAKAHL.
On Friday last a successful social tvafl held iv the Public Hall in aid of tlhe school piano fund. With Mr. T. Barnett as M.C. anil Mr. Linthorue's music things went with a .sw-ing. A number of pleasant Stems'were contributed In- Misses Maisle Somerriile, Dolly Mudford. 'Essie Hawkins, Minnie Turt'on, and Lily Turtou. and Messrs Albert Gregory and Tini. The minuet danoed by the following girls, in pretty costumes, was much enjoyed: Tilly Turton, Minnie Turton. E. Brew. iL. Brew, A. Watkins, G. Weitkins. C. Daly, and D. aLudford. The chairman of Uie Sonool Committee sttid the whole credit of securing the piano rested with Miss Hnlley, and. the oonwnlttee recognised the splend-id work slhe had done for the school. Supper was served during the evening by the school staff, assisted by several ladies. iSteps arc being taken to place a roll of honour in the l'ubiic Hall, wl/wli win conlain the names of those who have left the district for the front. The Sdh-00l Committee ore calling for tenders for excavations prior to laying down a tennis court, and also preparing the ground for an experimental vegetable garden.
