STOCK BALES, Messta Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report:— At Palmerston North on the 7th Inst, we had an average yarding ol sheep and a fair entry of cattle. Sheep were rather dull, while prices offering for cattle showed a slight improvement. Business was transacted at the following rates: Dairy cows and beiSers, £10 2/8 to £12; medium forwaid cowa, £8 to £8 12/; email heifers and eaJv€B, O 12/; fall store cows, £7 15/; call yenrtincs. £15/ to £2 2/; email 2-tooth ewes in lxmb, 28/; aged forward ewes, 28/1 to 28/5; sound mouth store ewes, 22/6 to 23/9; medi'om ditto, 18/ to 17/6; aged and faulty moutai ditto, 12/6 to 13/4; cull 2-tooth weffters, 20/ to 22/3; forward lambs, 16/7. A,t Feildlng on the Bth Inst, we had a fair en'/rj of stock of good quality. Sheep, with trje exception of fats, which sold well, were rether easier; while cattle sold particularly Veil, prices showing an improvement on late rates. Prime fat ewes brought 37/; light weight fat ewes, 33/1 to 34/6; mixed store ewes and wethers, 27/9; good empty ewes, 14/6 to 17/1; store lambs, 15/2; aged rams, 12/; prime fat cows, £13 15/ to £15 2/6; lighter weights, £11 10/ to £12 15/- fat heifers, £79 15/ to £11 5/; 3-year steers, *£14----2*-ye*r sieere, £11 17/6; forward cows £8 7/6 to £9 5/; Btore cows. £6 15/ to £7 2/6forward hei'ere, £7 3/6; store heifers £6 0/ to £5 12/; mixed yearlings (good), £3 16/ to £4 6/. THE BDTTEK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. haa received tie following cable from its London house, under date June S "Butter, better market, £9 6/ to £9 S/."
