NORTHCOTE SENIOR CADETS.
PRESENTATION OF MEDALS. The end of the years work of the Northcote Senior Cadets wae marked by the presentation of medals and badges at the Masonic Hall last evening, followed ■by a euchre tournament and dance. The occasion was also taken of extending a hearty welcome to the men who have returned from the front. Mr. J. B. Tonar (Mayor) presided. The company enp and the accompanying medal for shooting were won by Private A. B. Colgan. who was also awarded a handsome medal given for the boy who hae taken the most interest in his work during the year. A medal for best conduct during the year was won by Private Leslie Taylor, one for attendance by Private Tremaine. who had not missed a single parade. Private W. Whitcombe Bhcrwed an equally good record of attendance, and it was only by going back over a period of two years that the medal was finally awarded to Private Tremaine. In addition to these a medal presented for the N.C.O.'s was won by Sergt. Cruickshank for regular attendance and keenness, notwithstanding the fact that he has to travel some three miles over rough roads to the parades. Privates A. Tremaine, W. Whitcombe, and L. Taylor were awarded attendance, conduct, and general efficiency badges; Privates G. Watson and A. Colgan attendance end conduct badges; Privates H. Lepper, W. Moulden, and C. Whrhbread attendance badges; and Corporal Leete conduct and efficiency badges. Marksmen's badges were awarded to Sergt.-Major Fairweather, Corporal Lepper, and Private Colgan.
