ON AND OFT THE TIRING LINE. LONDON, May 21. War on Neutral Shipping. The Norwegian steamers Htdynajadcn, Ocunoct and Gerant have been torpedoed. The crews were lost.—(A. and N.Z.) The Norse Grain Shortage. Proepects for the Swedish harvest arc very bad. The production of alcohol has been reduced owing to lack of grain. The Minister in Charge of Food Control in Norway estimates that Norway will require 90,000 tons of grain to enable her to carry on till the harvest — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Recruiting Among Coal Miners. The Government has decided to recruit coal miners who are in Medical Class A, and who entered the industry since August, 1914, excepting engineers and mechanics-—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) Two Nurses Killed. Two American Red Cross nurses were killed aboard the liner Mongolia, en route from New York to Europe, when a portion of a bursting shell struck them while they were watching firing prawiwc at sea.—(A. and N.Z.
