At the meeting of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Fe4prfttipn, held in Dunedin during the recent National Apple Show, it wag resolved that in future agents wp,ujd he ohargpd (Jd per caee for all cases in which fruit is packed. The agents, who, of course, only sell on commission, notified the trade that the charge for cages would have to be passed on to them. This has caused a deal of feeling, and is much resented. At a largely attended meeting of retail fruiterers held this morning the following resolution wiw passed unanimously:— "That this rwoting of retail fruiterers in Dunedin and suburlw protest against the resolution of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation to charge for fruit cases, and absolutely refuse to buy any fruit in the auction rooms in which a charge is nrode for caeee."
