WIRELESS OPERATORS. (By Telegraph.— fress Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The shortage of wireless operators was mentioned during the hearing before a Military Service Board of an appeal made by the Amalgamated Wireless, Ltd.. on behalf of Robert S. Taylor, employed as radio telegraphist on a New Zealand steamer. Exemption had been granted in cither cases of similar character, but the Board now asked for further information regarding the supply of operators and the. prospect of releasing men who were members of the first division. The Board adjourned the case for a fortnight, in order that detailed information might he. supplied regarding the number of Xcw Zealand operators employed on transports and elsewhere.
