RECRUITING.
NINETY MEN WANTED. BEFORE MARCH 31. Voluntary enlistments for the 30th draft close on March 31. At the present time about ninety men are required to complete this draft before it closes on Saturday week. Mr. Copeland, secretary of the City Recruiting Commitee, stated to a "Star" representative to-day that if recruiting continues as in the past, there is every possibility of the draft being voluntarily closed without having to resort to the ballot. To complete this draft by voluntary means, about eight ; fit men are required daily until the 31st. Since the '"Star" went 1o press on Saturday nine men presented themselves for examination at the City Recruiting Station. Two of that number were re-' jected and one deferred. The folowing are the names, occupations, and addresses of those accepted:— Frederick Swales, traveller, Kingsland. Charles Rowe, carpenter, Pukekohe. James Robertson, buttermaker, Greenlane. Thomas Molloy, miner, Takapuna. Frank Bridges., grocer, Grafton RoadFrancis Ross, farm hand, Kaukapakapa. DRAFT FOR CAMP. LEAVE TO-MORROW. A supplementary draft to make up shortages in the 27th Reinforcements will leave Auckland for Trentham by the midday Main Trunk express to-morrow. The draft, eight in number, will parade at the Drill Hall at 9.30, and will later march down Queen Street for the station. The following are their names, occupations, and addresses: — William Bicknell, driver, Grafton Road. Samuel Cassidy, farmer, Glentnurray. John Dunn, clerk, Mount Eden. Arthur Griffiths, civil engineer, Devonport. Robert Morris, soldier, lit. Eden Edward Sadgrove, builder, Mt. Albert. Albert Thomas, labourer, Grey Street, City.
