I.sooyds north-eeet of les Eeearts. The British also gained the -western and north-western defences of Monchy-au-Bois. As a reprisal:for the burning of Bapaume by the Germans., a frencli 1 aeroplane to-day bombed Frankfurt-on-the-Main, in Germany.
