TIMBER WORKERS' DISPUTE.

BEFORE CONCILIATION COUNCIL. The dispute filed by the. Timber Workers' Union, which has been before the Conciliation Council for some time, was- again considered at a meeting of that body held tills morning. The assessors for the employers were Messrs J. W. Ellis, Joseph Butler and H. P. Taylor, with Mr S. E. Wright as advocate. The assessors for tbe nnion were Messrs E. Phelan (who also acted as. advocate), J. Turner and W. Christiansen. Tbe hearing of this dispute before Mr T. Harle Giles (Conciliation Commissioner) started in Auckland on March Sth, after which sittings of- the Council were held at Taumarunul on March 7th, Mamaku on the 9th, and Ngongotaha on the • llth, Mills were visited in each of these districts, and valuable Information gained by tho members of the Council.
