WIDOWS APPLICATION.

INCREASED MAINTENANCE. An application for an increase in the. allowance itade under tne will of her late husband was made at tiie Supreme' Court yesterday afternoon, before his Honor Mr. Justice Cooper, by Victoria Teresa Henriksen (Mr. T. N. Baxter). She application -was brought under the terms and provisions of tJJe Family iProtection Act, 1908. It was stated that the testator Peter Christenaen Henriksen, died at Sydney on December 29, 1915. He had previously farmed land »t. East lamaki, and in 1885 entered business as a storekeeper at Otahuhu. fc 1907 the Trent to New South Wales, but was unsuccessful in his business ventures there. Most of hfis estate had accumulated' at Otahuhu, and at the time of his death consisted of a mortgage for £450 at the rate of 6 per cent, a mortgage for £325 at about 5* per cent, and a sum of £355 3/8 invested in the Post Office Savings Bank. Mrs. fienriljsen, it was stated, had a life interest in her husband's property only, and the extent.to which she benefited under the mil -waa the interest, this amounting to about £1 per week. Applicant ■was (J4years of age, and -was at present indefthecareof a doctor. She had no ehfldren. In "addition to the £1 she was receiving from the estate, it was stated that she was in possession of an allotment in Kew South Wales, from ■which she was receiving 12/ per -week rent. ° * .$% ** A.
