UNFIT TO BE AT LARGE.
(By Telegraph.—rress Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At the Supreme Court John Henry Theodore (26) was found guilty of attempted carnal knowledge. Mr. Justice Dennieton said that accused was a ; low type of character, unfit to be at I large. The evidence showed that prisoner was capable of any atrocity. The j judges of the Dominion looked on the' punishment of eueh cases not merely ac a penalty, but ac a means for the protection of society, and sentenced accused to three months. Samuel Ellis, for assault causing bodily 'harm, admitted that he was of a haety temper. He wae sentenced) to' three months' gaol.
