The Petrograd correspondent of the London "Daily Mail" writes:—"The Rumiane hold their recent gains on the Riga front over a distance of seven miles. The Germans have concentrated all available forces in attempts to dislodge them. The heaviness of the enemy's losses recalls the battle of Verdun. The Russians are holding the Babit-Tirul line, and threaten Mitau and the whole German left flank. "An army order found on prisoners advieed the eating of crows as being an excellent and nutritious food." i
