BRITISH ATTACKS ON ANCRE.
THE GERMAN VERSION. A REPULSE ALLEGED. OPERATIONS IN EAST. (Admiralty, per Wireless Press.) (Received 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, February 11. A German official message states: "The British attacked to the north-east of Beaumont, to the eastward of Grandcourt, and northward of Courcelette. A company penetrated our line in the direction of Beaucourt, but was afterwards | repulsed. "The French in hand-to-hand fighting I at Sailly Wood, on both sides of the Mpselle, were repulsed. I "We are pursuing the Russians northward of Narotch Lake, on the Dvinsk I front, due east of Vilna. j "A French thrust north-west of Mona-1 stir and a British attack soutb-west of I Doiran Lake both failed."
