THE REGATTA PROTESTS.
The Auckland A_niver-—try Regatta Committee met on Wednesday afternoon, when Captain Parker was in the chair. In view of _r C. C. Dacre being ill in hospital, Mr F. W. Chalmers was elected to the position of hon. secretary for the closing duties in connection with last mont—*s regatta. The protest of the Mowai, which came third tn the race for 2_-footers, was considered, and a decision was left over until Saturday afternoon next. ' The' members of the commitrtee expressed their appreciation "of the fine Rowing in the race for trading cutters. This event was undoubtedly tue most successful oi the day, and was quite a spectacular treat.
