Mr. C. J. Parr will speak on "Britain and the War" in Epsom Methodist Church on Thursday evening January llth.
Messrs. Jack Meyrick and Ritchie Burns, two popular Newmarket young men who leave to join the Twenty-second Reinforcement, were entertained at a social last evening. His Worship the Mayor of Newmarket proposed the toast "Our Boys at the Front" and
"The Guests of the Evening." Other toasts were: "The Newmarket Women's Patriotic League," Mr. W. Hill; "Returned Soldiers," Messrs. Rosser aud Harris. Musical items were rendered by Messrs. Page, Eovelock, Townshend, Morton, and Emerson, and the evening concluded by all singing "Avid Lang -__ac»" . _ ..:._,\±c .- iP_.^__3_^L-_,
