! CHAMPIONSHIPS CONTOTOEn. ON HAKD, FAST WICKETS. After a vacation of a fortnight, the Auckland district clubs' cricket championship matches were continued on Saturday afternoon on hard, fast wickets and in beautiful weather. The main attraction at Eden Park was the game between the two leaders, Parnell and Ponsonby, on No. 1 wicket. Parnell batted first, but a rot set in after the third wicket had fallen, and the whole side were out for 135 runs. In the hour left for play Ponsonby ■ lost three wickets for 66 runs. Against Eden, University knocked up a score of £19, runs, and the home team so far has made only 4G for two wickets. At North Shore Grafton batted all the afternoon against the home team, and made 286 for eight wickets. At Eden Park the lady supporters of University Club dispensed afternoon tea for the benefit physically of players and spectators, and financially of the Victoria League's Patriotic Fund.
