FIRE AT NEWMARKET.
A fire broke out at Newmarket thh morning, in the upper rooms of an eight-roomed bouse situated in George Street, and occupied toy a railway employee named T. Floyd. The alanii ■was promptly given, and" the Newmarket Brigade was quickly in attendance. excellent •work was put in fighting the flames, with the result that the fire waj confined to the rooms in the upper storey, which were thoroughly charred. The house belongs to the Nuttal Eetate. and is stated to be insured by the trustees. 'Mr. Floyd, 'having neglected to cover hie furniture by insurance, is a rather heavy loser ac the water has done considerable damage to the articles downstairs.
