EAST CAMPAIGN.

IN A SWAMPY AREA. UNTENABLE AFTER RAINY SEASON. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 19. The WaT Office, in reviewing the East African operations, says that the hulk of the enemy is now confined to a limited area in the south-eastern portion of the colony in the neighbourhood of the Lower Rufiji River in malarial country, largely salt marsh, which will be untenable after the October rains.
