NECESSITIES BEFORE LUXURIES.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Fanners are wondering how, witli the drain of war acting heavily against their powers of production, they ■will be able to keep their agricultural output .up to normal. In this city and suburbs may ■be counted many ablebodied individuals engaged in absolutely useless municipal work, such as the ornamentation (t) of open spaces. Utility before luxury until sucb time as this bloody war shall .be finished should be the order of our going.—l am, etc.,
