CAREERS OF THE FAXXKM.
CORPORAL D. P. CAMPBELL. Corporal David P. CampbeE (Seottj), who is reported to have been killed in action- on the loth September, was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Campbell, of Waimane Avenue, Northcote. Up to the time of his enlistment with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade he was in tha emph-yof Messrs. Gordon and Gotch, of this city. He took a very keen interest in all branches of sport. He was a member of the Everton Association Football Club for three years, and afterwards joined the Northcote Association Football Club. He was also a member of the Waitemata Cricket Club and the Northcote Tennis Club.
LANCE-CORPORAL K. G. B. McLEAN. Lance-CoTporal Kenneth G. B. McLean, who is reported, wounded in Prance, is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. McLean* of Devonport. He left New Zealand in January with the Third Reinforcements of the Rifle Brigade. In Egypt he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion, Otago Rifles. Mr. and Mrs. McLean's only other son has been sent to headquarters staff in France after being in hospital in England foi nine months. LA*TCE-CORPORAI, W. SBAKD Lance-Corporal W. Shand, reported -wounded, is 29' years of age, and is the founh son of Mrs. and the late John Shand, of Hillside Crescent, Mount Eden. He was educated at Mount Eden Public School, and, after serving bis apprenticeship with -Messrs. G. Fraser and Sons, followed his trade as an engineer. He was for eight years a member of the local volunteer fire brigade. On this occasion the wound r» in the head, and it is the third time Private Shand has been reported wounded.
THOMAS S. WEBB. Lance-Corporal Thomas. S. Webb, who has heen wounded in the left arm in France on loth September, is the eldest son of Mrs. E. J. Cole. 16, Douglas Street. Ponsonby, and is 25 years of age. He was born in Auckland, and received hie education at Napier Street school, later removing to Birkenhead, where he resided for some years. He took a keen interest in 6port, and played football for the Northcote Ramblers. He enlisted with the Ninth Reinforcements, and was drafted into the 2nd Battalion of the Otago Infantry Regiment. Prior to- enlisting he was engaged in farming in the Gisborne district. PRIVATE ANDREW OTTO. RIFLEMAN LEWIS AELAN O'NEILL.
.Rifleman Lewis Ailan CNefll, reported wounded in the right side on September 15, is the son of the late 'Lewis and MrsO'Neill, of Hamilton. He was educated at Kings College, and left with the Earl of Liverpool's Own 'last February. His :wife resides at the Thames.
