DEVOKPORT. Ttoe Devonport Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor <ilr J. Henderson) presiding. The following councillors were present:—(Messrs .A. Nixon, A. Walker J Woodall, W. ,S. Stone, C. J. Smith v' \ Thompson, W. K. Howiu, and J r Wright. The Council, upon the motion of the Mayor, granted four building permits. These Included one for the. erection of two lock-up shops and a stable at the for the Auckland Meat Company. A request that a deputation be received to discuss ;hlre charges of wagonettes was granted. As the resolt of a recent inspection. It ■was decided to erect about twenty street lamps in different positions in the district. MOUNT BOSKIIX. The Mount Rosfcill :Road Board met last night. Present: Messrs ,T. Parr (chairman), G. Winston*, R. H. Wynyard J ■Hamon. E. J. Herd, and J. Haslett By-laws.—lt was decided to submit the alterations made by tie Board sn the by-la-ws to the Board's solicitor, alter the same lias been perused toy the foreman of -workß, with a suggestion that provision be made for culverts In the district. :Re3ervoir Site. — The -Board Is now paying the sum of £50 per annum for a site for the water reservoir On behalf of the owner, Mr X. S. Downs intimated that he is prepared xo extend the term at the same price, but the question of the Board being allowed to purchase the site ■would Jiare to stand over o-wing to the absence of Mr Conelly from home. Sanitary Service.—Mr W. Patterson >wrote offering to meet the ilioara to arrange terms for in a ujpi rating a sairitarv service in the Mount Kosklll district. It was decided to leave the matter in the lauds of the chairman and Mr Wynyard, with power to^act. Three Kings JJoad.—lt Tvas decided to instruct the contractor <Mr A. Mitchell) to complete the metaßing of Three Kings Road, which "will take about anotner 70 yarde of metal. Mr Mitchell informed the Board that he had supplied 1000 yards of blue metal, and asked for a further progress, payment of £100. This was granted. ■
