WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIN, Tuesday. An inquest was held to-night concerning the death of Mrs. Matilda Bardsley, of Xorth-Eaat Valley, aged 70, who died in the hospital this morning. The evidence showed that her husband on going to the back yard at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday found deceased sitting on a box with a cut in her throat. She suffered from throat trouble, and had to sit up at night from, lack of breath. The medical evidence showed that deceased had been mentally depreeeed by the death, of a son, who was killed in action. A verdict was returned that-death was due to injuries self-inflicted while in a depressed state of mind.
