RESENT BRITISH SEARCH. (Received 1.5 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, September 5. United States warships and transports have been authorised to carry Germany mail matter to the Kar East in order to prevent the possibility of British interference. Tlic United States Government line • complained on more than one occasion that the American mails have been ' searched by British warships. In reply. the British Government pointed out that , the mails were frequently abused by the , carrying , of contraband goods, such lie rubber, intended for Germany. Great Britain refused to give up her right to search the mails.
