ACCOMMODATION WANTED
Tiie joint executive comirmt.ee of Hie • Red Cross Society met yesterday after-' noon, when the Mayor (Mr. .1. H. Gunson) presided. It may be explained that the Red Cross Society does not overlap with the well-known organisation of St. John Ambulance. The former society has arisen out of the war, and its activities are all devoted to matters connected with the hostilities. St. John Ambulance, on the other hand, carries on its valuable work in time of peace as well as war. The joint committee which met yesterday afternoon Tepresentj both organisations. It was decided to appoint Mr. H. D. Boberton as secretary to tbe executive co___ittee, and the appointment of Mr. G. W. Bewes was confirmed as treasurer. The Hon. George KowHs, with Messrs. H. D. Heather and Hatr___son, were appointed a sub-cam-mittee to secure etriiah-e accoiri.moda.tion, which should inch-do wareboaisc room in which goods can he received, and packed ready for dispatch to tho front. Offices are also to bo secured by the s_b-earj__ittee, the) members of which would be glad to learn of anyone who has =» big- packfapToon. whsnli could be placed at tho. disposal of tho Society free of charge. It was also- decided to try and. form a committeo from -various existing -patriotic associations, to work in conjunction with the Red Cross Society.
