COUNTRY GIRL'S GIFT. I The secretary of the Auckland Serbian Relief Fund (Mr. G.• L. Scansic) 'states that to date the sum of £26 10/ has been received in redemption of the j anonymous gift of a country girl of her 'collection of trinkets. The gift is to be returned to the donor as soon as she is I found, and in the meanwhile an effort is being made to obtain its equivalent value from those who .may be touched by the pathos of the gift. Mr. G. Fowlds, in whose shop window the trinkets are displayed, has received an opal ring to be Bold to swell the little fund. The 'Mayor's Serbian Fund bas been augmented by the following donations, making the total subscriptions £4935 13/5: —Rotorua branch of Women's Patriotic League. £50; sale of one gelding, presented by Mr Jas. Court (per Alfred Buckiand and (Sons), £24; retiring collection taken up at Beresford Street Congregational Church, 20tn Augnst. £20; Walroa Road Board, £10; Thames Patriotic League, £H 5/; Raglan Patriotic League, £4 0/10. Further donations from the school children are as follows: —Ellerslie School children, £30 7/3; Richmond Road School Children, £1S 8/0; Mt Albert School children. £17 15/; Stanley Bay School children, £14 S/: Bayßeid School children, £12 13/: Parneli School children. £12 1/S; Grafton School children. £11 0/4; Devonport 'School children, £10; New Lynn School children, £9 7/7; Mt Roskill School children. £7 5/; Henderson School children, £•> II: Manngatapere School children, Ci 11/; Mt.
