DOCTORS' FEES.
THE EXAMISIATION OF RECRUITS. A return of the amounts paid to doctors in the four chief centres for the examination of recruits during the year ended March, 31st last was presented to the House of ■ Representatives by the Hon. J. Allen. This shows that £1.085 was paid to nine Auckland doctors. £964 to 13 Wellington doctors, £1,042 to eight Christchurch doctors, and £*l*2 to three Dunedin doctors. The total amount paid was £3,434. The highest amount paid in Auckland was £415, received by Colonel A. G. Talbot, Acting-P.M.O. This amount included fees-collected by him for payment to other medical officers acting with him on medical boards, etc. Dr. B. J. Dudley received £315, Dr. J. H. Xeil £120, Colonel T. E. Inglis £79, Colonel W. H. Parkes £78, Dr. A. Kinder £37, Dr. G. E. C. Fenwiek £22, Dr. E. W. Sharman £11, and Dr. H. M. Goldstein £4 15/. The highest amounts paid in Wellington were £408 to Dr. H. L. M. Steele. j and £127 paid to Dr. J. S. Elliott. In Christchurch the highest amount paid was £689, to Dr. R. W. Anderson, P.M.O. this item including fees collected by him for payment to other medical officers. Dr. J. F. DuTican received £144, and Dr. P. H. Foster £130. In Dunedin the only large amount paid was £312. received by Dr. A. R. Falconer, P.M.0., this amount including fees collected by him and paid to other medical officers. Prior to November. 1915 officers actinsr as principal medical officers of districts received an honorarium of £50, after that date the honorarium was J raised to £150.
