T . . „ . LONDON, duly 28. The following report on operations in. German East Africa has been received from General Northcy, who is in command of one of the columns:—"On Monday we drove the main southern German detachment from strongly-organised positions astride the NeulangenburgIrangi road at Malangi. After strong, unsuccessful counter-attacks, the enemy retired hurriedly in the direction of Kondoa-Irangi. abandoning a 4in howitzer and two machine-guns. Among the Germans captured was Dr. Stier, late Governor of Neulangenburg, who has since died. The survivor* of the crew of the cruiser Konig3burg form part of the German force in this area." |
