CITY SCHOOLS.
The City Schools' Committee met last evening. There were present Messrs. A. Rose (chairman), W. Kane, P. E. Dromgool, S. iCindley, J. Grace, and E. Lilly.
Deputation.—A -epntation represent—" the Auckland Dramatic and Vaudeville Employees' Association was in attendance In connection with a gala in aid o" the Children's Hospital Equipment Fund. It was decided to support the association's effort, and to recommend the co-operation of the' headmasters of the schools under the' committee's control.
The secretary, Mr. Lilly, offered to organise a concert in the Town Hall in aid of the school fends. The offer was accepted, and the committee passed a resolution expressing its appreciation of Sir. Lilly's services in the capacity of honorary secretary and Its entire' confidence in his work. The zeal with which he had carried out the many onerous duties which' had fallen to his lot ns secretary was the subject of special remark.
The _iairmin was authorised to grant a no-May on Arbor .Day. He was also empowered to grant other holidays during the school yenr.
