PLUCKY NEW ZEALANDERS.
AWARDED THE D.C.M. BRAVERY UNDER FIRE. (Australian and X.Z. Cable Association.) (Received 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. The Distinguished Conduct Medal has been awarded to the following New Zcalandcrs: — Sergeant Birnie. of the First Battery, for conspicuous gallantry on four occasions. He did fine work in serving his gun and repairing emplacements under heavy fire. Rifleman Dickey, of the Fourth Battalion, for conspicuous gallantry under heavy fire. Sergeant-Major Ibbotson, Howitzer Battery, who did good work in carrying out the duties of section commander and observer on the absence of officers who were injured.
