OUR SICK AND WOUNDED IN EGYPT
A meeting of the joint committees of the Convalescent Outings Society took place recently at the British Consulate, Cairo, when tho position of the affairs of the society and the object for which it was founded were explained, and it will interest our readers to have a short resume of the scheme. "Outings" are being organised with a view to benefit the convalescent sick and wounded soldiers of the Allies in Cairo by taking them to visits of interest such as the Zoological Gardens, Aquarium, Museum, Observatory, Ostrich Farm, and the beautiful gardens at the Delta Barrage, where the society has already erected canteen, stores, tables, seats, etc., for entertaining
OUTINGS FOR CONVALESCENTS
some 300 men at a time, and it is hoped that in this manner the men will be enabled to have the privilege of getting away from the cafes and out of the dusty streets,of Cairo to the fresh health-giving air of the abovenamed places of interest, which are often neglected. No charges arc being made for these outings, and the journey by rail or motor and the entrance fees are entirely provided by the funds of the society.
