GIFTS FOR SOLDIERS.
THE WORK OF DISPATCHING. Tied up neatly and compactly in handkerchiefs, and looking for all the world like so many "navvies'" dinners, except that the covering is khaki instead of flaming red, Auckland's consignment of Dominion gift parcels for the boys at the front will shortly be dispatched. The packages referred to are only a few spechnen6 now in the bands of the Women's Patriotic Association for the guidance of those ladies who have not been in the habit of packing the aforesaid dinners,and will require instruction, and preliminary arrangements for proparing the Auckland consignment are now in hand. The Mayoress, who is the president of the Association, is desirous that the members of the Camps, Supplies Abroad, Receiving and Dispatching and Executive Committees of the Association shall gather at the Town Hall at. noon to-morrow, for the purpose of marshalling the forces, and the actual task of tying up the handkerchief parcels to be sent from here will he tackled on Friday.
