CAREERS OF THE FALLEN. THE BROTHERS LIVINGSTONE. The two sons of Mr. and Mrs. J. Livingstone, of Cambridge, whb are on 1 active service, have both received injur- | ies in action. Gunner James S. LivingI stone, serving with the New Zealand i Rifle Brigade, is reported as having been wounded in the knee. Both received their education at the' Cambridge District High School. They were both in the building trade at the time of their enlistment. GUNNER R. & DARBY. Gunner Roy Stephen Darby, of the Xew Zealand Field Artillery, who returned from Egypt last week, was born at Waihi and was educated at the Waihi School- He was always keen in his participation in military matters, and was a member at different times of senior cadet companies at Waihi, Auckland, and Hamilton. In 1914 he was a member of one of the teams which competed for the Ladies' Challenge Cup, offered for competition among the senior cadets by tho ladies of the Dominion. Cadet Darby secured the cup, and also an inscribed medal which was presented to him by Sir lan Hamilton on his visitto Hamilton. Cadet Darby -was later transferred to the G Battery at Hamilton, and shortly after the outbreak of the war joined the Second Reinforcement draft, enlisting with the Howitzer Battery at the age of 10 years. He landed with the Main Body at Gallipoli, and was in the firing line until November last. He escaped injury right up to his last days on tho 'Peninsula, but a few days prior to the troops being withdrawn he was attacked by enteric, and sent to Abbassia Hospital at Cairo, whence he was invalided home. His next-of-kin is Mrs. H. B. J. Rea, of Dawson Street, Hamilton East. PRIVATE T. 0. JENKINS. Pte. Thos. Oliver Jenkins, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jenkins, of Aburoa, who is being invalided home, was among the first to enlist, and left Sew Zealand in the Medical Corp3 of the Main Body. He was 20 years of age when he enlisted, and was engaged in farming at the time. Pte. Jenkins was present at the landing at Gate Tepe, and had previously come into contact with the Turks at Ismailia, when they made their unsuccessful raid on the canal.
