STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

EDENDALE RESIDENT'S EXPERIENCE. A resident of Edendale, Auckland, had a most startling experience during the height of the thunderstorm yesterday afternoon. While drawing a bucket of water from a tap outside her house a lady who lives in Fowlds Avenue was suddenly struck on the chest by some invisible force, and for the time being she was quite powerless. On her chest there was a distinct red mark, and it remained there for several hours. She is unable to say what it was, but she thinks that the shock was in some way connected with the lightning (which waß very vivid at the time) and the iron waterpipc, alongside which she was standing.
