| AUCKLAND GOLF CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Auckland Golf Club was held in the Chamber of Commerce on Saturday evening, Mr. A. Clnrk presiding. > In moving the adoption of the report and balanee-ebeet, which has already been published, the chairman congratulated the club upon the success that had been experienced h. the year. The state of the club's funds was principally due to the fact that so many of Its members had felt It their duty 'to go. to the front, the majority of the younger men on the roll : having either gone 'to the war or put down their names for enlistment. ■Mr. J. C. Burns, captain of the clcb, who seconded the motion, said the subscriptions had fallen off by about £200, of which £90 wis due to tile absence of members on military service, and the balance to members transferring to the list of honorary and non-paying members. It was estimated that there will be a fnrtber reduction of subscriptions this year to the extent of about £100. Speaking of the work of the club's new professional, be congratulated the members upon the tact that the links had heen Improved till they were now abont the best In New Zealand. The motion was carried unanimously. . . , Officers for the year were elected as follow: — President, Mr. A. Clark: vicepresidents, Messrs. 11. Horton. J. U. Upton, and the Hon. A. H. Myers; captain, Mr. A. MeCosh Clark: vacancies on the committee, Messrs. J. B. Lusk, .1. 0. Burns, and "N. R. Mackintosh; neeretarj- and trensurcr. Mr. R. Ruddock; auditor. Mr. R. R. Fraeer, FiP.A.. N.Z. A discussion arose upon a suggestion that the Ladles'' Golf v Clnl> be allowed to play on the links on Saturdays nnd holidays during tbc currency of the war. It was resolved' that the matter be recom-. mended to the favourable consideration of the committee. ' .
