STRIKE AT OHUTIU

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, Friday. Quite a sensation was caused on YVednesdav, when fifteen men engaged principally in the yard at the Utiutu Box Company's mill formed a deputation and approached the managers for an increase in wages. The men have been constantly employed, and a number of them are old servants of the company. Their wages iiyeraged 10/- to 11/- per day, and their fresh demands were for 12/- per day. This the managers refused to grant, and a meeting of the men took place, with the result that the men put on their coats and left their jobs.
