CONTROL OF SHIPPING.
AUSTRALIAN PRECAUTION. MELBOURNE, March 10. Owing to the decrease of available shipping in the Commonwealth by the sale of vessels, and sales which are pending, the Federal Executive has approved of a regulation under which a vessel owned in, or under charter in, the Comomnwealth, or British vessels which have arrived or are arriving, may not leave for an oversea destination unless licensed to do so. Vessels ensaged in the regular trade between Australia and New Zealand or the Pacific Islands are exempt.
