N.Z. TROTTING ASSOCIATION. ■MEETING OF THE BOARD. CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. A meeting of the -board of the -New Zealand Trotting Association was iheld this afternoon. The president reported that replies had been received from some clubs in reference to the proposals contained in Sir George Clifford's oircula.- regarding the contributions of racing and trotting clubs to I patriotic funds. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club wrote expressing approval of the proposals, and suggesting that the Hon. Charles Lonisson be appointed trustee on behalf of the clnb. The Wellington Trotting Club agreed to the proposals. The hoard deferred taking- definite action. The disqualification of the horse Black Douglas, and the owner, H. Prouee, for two years, by the West Australian Trotting (Association was endorsed. The Inangahua. Trotting Club wrote forwarding evidence taken in connection with the Samoa case. The club had passed a resolution disqualifying the horse Samoa'for the Keep-it-dark, Handicap at. the club's < ' November meeting, also disqualifying tho p ! horse and his owner and rider. John Dug-1 : . gan. for life for corrupt practices. The ' j club's action was endorsed. i i The board investigated the case of the- ' horse George Berlin, whose identity was. questioned. Affidavits were read from; ' several Canterbury trainers, and ■ evidence ' given' by Alexander Dawes, who ihad raced, the horse at Waikouaiti and TapanuL The board resolved .that it a was. satisfied the - horse-George Berlin, was identical with' > Vial Goorlte, which had been dteqralmed . for life. Further consideration ot .the, case was deferred till next meetings.
