(Before Mr. F. V. Frazer, 531.) DRUNKENNESS. A first offender, who had been several days under medical treatment, had to pay 5/- expenses. A soldier was convicted and discharged, three other men were fined 5/- apiece, and one forfeited bail.

MISCELUVraOUS. Daniels (58), an Islander, charged that yesterday he committed an indecent assault oh a male, was remanded .until Friday. Francis Chas. Jlaxetead (30), on a charge that at Mount Albert yesterday he assaulted John Lee so as to cause him actual bodily harm, was remanded till Friday, bail icing fixed at one eurety of 1 £50. The charge arose-out of a quarrel between Maxetcad and Lee over the latter's d-cg chasing a pig through a paddock where the otlier man's milch cowe were grazing, and it i 3 alleged that Maxstead struck Lee so violently as to break his nose and severely bruise his ■face.
