Lord Tnchcapc, presiding at a meeting of the National Provincial Bank, said: "Germany is already irretrievably beaten, and is conducting the war like a devil let loose out of hell. The whole civilised world sh6uld combine to crush her infamy. Her losses in men and materials have been stupendous. She is eating up herself, sacrificing her soldiers against our impregnable lines. Her credit is falling daily."
