iTo the Editor.) Sir.—"Oh. Lord, how long?" The increase in the price of milk of id per quart in vogue from to-day will amount, in •the course of a year, in Auckland city alone, to .the sum of £15,300. Double this for increase in price of meat and we get £31.000. Ditto for increase in price of butter £31.000. Increase in price of bread £15.500. Total, a sum of £93.000. 1 say nothing about other commodities. Now. the farmers tire stated by the meat, milk, and bread trusts to be entirely responsible for this increase. .Assuming that such is the caise, and again recklessly assuming that the farmers will hand this surplus protit over to the Government tax collector, who is xeally paying the fanners' tax?
