LONDON, Febraary 6.

The wool sales closed at top There were sold for the Home market 96,000 bales, for the Continent 15,000 and for the United States 2,000, while 5,000 were held over. Compared witt the December sales, the best eoonrai merinos advanced 2d, medium and faulty from 2d to 3d, the choicest greasy about 5 per cent, and medium to common from 7J to 10 per cent, Ijg best crossbreds advanced Id, common 10 per cent, while elipea hid the keenest demand at an advance of from 2d to 3d. Crossbred Umi, advanced 3d, and merinos 10 iw cent.

The most remarkable feature of the sales was the absence of excitement during the boom, which was almost dangerous. Prices have, however, -been paid with the fullest confidence, fhii is probably due to consumers being full of orders, and enjoying good margini of profit.
