A MEAT TRADE EFFORT.

FOB BED CROSS WORK.

LOKDON, February 6. A meeting of representatives of the meat trades has opened subscription lists on behalf of the British Bed Cross Society of the Order of St. John. A representative committee was appointed, with Mr Gordon Campbell as chaiiman and Lord Whitburgh as vice-chairman. Mr Harold Nelson and Mr D. B. Reid, of Yuill's, represent the colonies on the committee. Subscriptions amounting to £3,000 were announced at the meeting. The committee will appeal to the mea± trade throughout the world, especially to the Australian and New Zealand graziers.
